Inspiring the workforce of tomorrow
Career Development Council's goal is to present the world of work to students. Whether students are heading directly into the workforce, the military, getting advanced training, or first attending college, we create experiences that help develop workforce awareness and readiness for a wide range of career options with a strong focus on STEM careers in our region. Ultimately, students are better able to say, "I am career ready!"
We are an educational nonprofit, established in 1975, by business and school leaders, who decided to address workforce development together. Career Development Council programming increases awareness of in-demand professions that exist in our region. In the 2019-2020 school year, Career Development Council continued to coordinate, both in-person and virtually, over 2,000 career events (career speakers, career days, job shadows, mock interviews, career related field trips and more) connecting business and education, with 20 regional school districts representing over 28,000 students, working with 672 businesses and 1.615 volunteer businesspeople in our region. We rely heavily on the generosity of time and expertise of our local business community to provide career awareness and career exploration opportunities for students across our region. We thank you for your support.
Together we build a bridge between business and education, transitioning learners to employment, creating a successful and ready workforce for our community. There are many paths to a successful career. Imagine. Explore. Create. Start here.
