Job Summary:
The Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist’s Key role is fostering relationships with stakeholders, businesses, committee members, and community members to drive engagement, increase participation, and enhance the organization’s visibility and impact.  This individual will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing social media and digital communications, coordinating events, and fostering relationships with members and the community while supporting the Chamber’s mission.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase the Chamber’s visibility.
  • Manage social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), creating engaging content and campaigns.
  • Maintain and update the Chamber’s website with relevant news, event information, and resources.
  • Design marketing materials, newsletters, email campaigns, and press releases.
  • Track and analyze marketing efforts to optimize engagement and effectiveness.
Community Engagement & Member Relations:
  • Build relationships with Chamber members, local businesses, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in member recruitment and retention efforts by promoting the benefits of Chamber membership.
  • Act as a liaison between the Chamber and local organizations to strengthen partnerships.
  • Respond to inquiries from members and the public regarding Chamber activities and services.
Event Coordination:
  • Assist in planning, promoting, and executing Chamber events, including networking functions, ribbon cuttings, and business expos.
  • Develop event marketing strategies to drive attendance and engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, sponsorships, vendor management, and volunteer coordination.
 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, community relations, or event planning, preferably in a nonprofit or business organization preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and digital marketing tools.
  • Graphic design skills and proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for community engagement and economic development.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
 
Benefits & Compensation:
  • Salary $62,000-$64,000.
