May 2    Art Explorers’ Story Hour: Patterns in Nature

The Rockwell believes that museums act as community centers – a place for safe and authentic arts experiences for all audiences. That’s why we’re proud to once again partner with the Southeast Steuben County Library for Art Explorers’ Story Hour.

On the first Thursday of each month, Children’s Librarian Sue McConnell reads beloved stories thematically linked to The Rockwell’s art collection. This month, hear Bees, Snails and Peacock Tails by Betsy Franco – then explore and socialize with games and activities, connecting little ones to authentic arts experiences through storytime and un-plugged play.

Attendees are invited to explore the Museum after Story Hour for free, including a visit to the hands-on KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab at no charge.

May 10    Singin' In The Rain JR.
Family Life Youtheatre presents "Singin' In The Rain JR." This musical will showcase the talents of children from 8 to 15 years old. The show has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline – the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her. This is the first of three shows, there will be two additional shows on Saturday, May 11.
Date: May 10, 2019
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Website: http://www.fln.org
Location: Family Life, 7634 Campbell Creek Rd., Bath, NY 14810

Fees/Admission: Tickets: $11 in advance, $13 at the door. Groups of ten or more are $2 off per ticket. Advance ticket sales end the day before the show at noon. You can purchase tickets at the website or by calling 800-927-9083.

A Family-Fun Day for children ages 5 to 12.  This is a child friendly, age appropriate, non-competitive event to bring children together for some of their favorite Spring things: Being Active, Being Outside and Getting Dirty!

The Getting Dirty Obstacle Course is designed to give children over and under fun – wet, dry, slippery and some parts filled with mud!  Other challenges will include soap suds, bubbles, slippy slide and athletic whimsies.  Parents will be responsible for the getting clean part, so bring towels and a set of clean clothes, plus swim suits for the whole family to enjoy our heated swimming pool afterward.

The fabulous fun kicks off with the first wave of 25 starting at 10am. Additional waves will follow every 10 minutes as needed.

All participants receive a t-shirt, participation ribbon and a picnic lunch: hamburger or hotdog, chips, watermelon, cookie & drink.  Spectators are welcome and additional lunch tickets can be purchased for $5 with child’s registration.  Cost is $20 per child prior to May 1st and $25 after May 1st.  To register or for more information, contact Watson Homestead at 607-962-0541 orwhomestead@stny.rr.com.  For directions, go to our website atwww.watsonhomestead.com.

May 11    Singin' In The Rain JR.
Family Life's Youtheatre presents "Singin' In The Rain JR." This musical will showcase the talents of children from 8 to 15 years old.

Méthode Champenoise Experience
May 2019
Location: 1886 Reserve Room
Available Saturdays at 2 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM.

A behind-the-scenes look of our rich history of sparkling winemaking. The tour will begin with an explanation of our estate vineyards focusing on the classic Champagne grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The tour continues underground to our historic cellar built in 1886. Here you will learn the process of méthode Champenoise including bottling, aging, and disgorgment while tasting through several examples of our sparkling wines. At the conclusion of the tour, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef’s seasonal bites where you taste our remaining sparkling wines and still wines produced by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Please arrive at our 1886 Reserve Tasting Room at least 5 minutes before the starting time of the event. Just south of the main winery and tasting rooms is the stone house named Chateau Frank. Once you pull into the driveway and park, walk towards the rear of the building and you will see stairs leading up to the 1886 Reserve Room. The event will feature some walking in our vineyards, so we suggest wearing suitable shoes.
