Feb 5    Guest Artist Museum Amphitheater - Claire Kelly

See guest artist, Claire Kelly  in a live, narrated demonstration in the Amphitheater Hot Shop on February 5 from 3–5 pm.

A frequent instructor at glassmaking schools around the country, including The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass, Claire Kelly has been working with glass for over twenty years. Kelly, whose work has been exhibited internationally, has been working with acclaimed glass artist Toots Zynsky since 2008 and is currently exploring a new body of work.

These demos are included in the cost of admission (kids and teens 17 and under are free).

Feb 8    Business After Hours - The Rockwell Museum

Join us for our February networking event!  Be among the first to see the newest exhibition at The Rockwell Museum, Modernist Masters, Contemporary Icons: Highlights from the Old Jail Art Center. Opening February 3, this exhibition features work by John Marin, Grant Wood, and Andy Warhol, this exhibition is an intimate collection of American masterworks from the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, TX.  Other artists, familiar to The Rockwell’s collection like Fritz Scholder, John Marin and James Audobon, are also included – providing a new dialogue with The Rockwell’s modernist water colors, works on paper and sculpture.  Comprised of 33 modernist works of landscape, portraiture, nudists, modern life stills and wildlife, this exhibition celebrates the work of the most honored American art masters of our time.

Beverages and hors d'ouevres will be provided by The Rockwell Museum.  There will be a cash bar.

Feb 9    Behind the Glass: Toots Zynsky

Free & open to the public. The Auditorium.

Toots Zynsky is known for her distinctive filet de verre (glass thread) vessels, which are unique explorations of color and form. Their exceptional designs are achieved through an interweaving of painting and sculpture. In her lecture, Zynsky will share her creative process and sources for inspiration, as well as her recent experience as the Museum’s specialty glass resident artist. The Specialty Glass Residency is a joint program of The Corning Museum of Glass and Corning Incorporated that supports artists in exploring the use of specialty glass materials to inform their body of work.

Says Zynsky, "The full immersion experience of this Residency, both at Sullivan Park and CMoG was an extraordinary encounter with brilliant generous minds, materials, facilities, support, and time. It was a great challenge."

Live Glassmaking Demonstrations featuring Davide Salvadore

World-renowned glass maestro, Davide Salvadore takes the floor of the Amphitheater Hot Shop for this sure-to-be exciting installment of 2300°. Davide often makes large, colorful sculptures which reflect diverse influences, such as African tribal imagery, Muranese roads, and the smokestacks of glasshouses.

Live Music by Afrobeta and Too Many Zooz

What do you get when you combine classical and modern musical styles with an ultra-hip duo? You get Afrobeta and what has been described as "dance-a-licious beats" of their cool, underground sound. Afrobeta will be bringing the house down in the Museum auditorium while Too Many Zooz, a band who's high-energy and vibrant sounds will keep the party going on the outdoor Courtyard Stage. Submit a drawing of something you’d like to see come alive in glass. At select Hot Glass Demos throughout the day, glassmakers will choose a drawing and make that piece from start to finish..

Each ticket is good for the whole weekend, to visit each winery once.

Single tickets are $35 and include:

  • 1 souvenir wine glass
  • 1 wine and food pairing at each winery
  • 3 additional wine tastings per winery
  • 1 recipe collection
  • Beads at each winery
  • A chance to win a prize at each winery

Discounted designated driver tickets are available. The DD gets all the same perks as a regular ticket, minus the wine.  They also get a DD travel mug, rather than a wine glass. $17.50 for a single.

Be sure to buy your tickets early, we have a limited amount available.

When ordering tickets, will you be asked to choose a specific starting point. This is where you’ll start the event and be given your wine glass, scavenger hunt card and your recipe collection.

 

If you’re part of a large group (15+), we ask that you contact the office prior to ordering your tickets; to be sure the whole group can be accommodated at a starting point. If you purchased your ticket separately from your group, please notify the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail office at 800-684-5217 or info@cayugawinetrail.com so we can make sure that you have the same starting point.

For large groups, we also offer itineraries to ensure smooth flow of the buses throughout the day. Please contact the trail office to order your tickets and get your itinerary started.
