Join us in The Studio on July 6 at 2:30 pm for a David Whitehouse Research Residency for Scholars lecture from Rachel Wood.
Wood approaches archaeological research through experimental methods, scientific analysis, and art historical and anthropological theories and methods. This lecture will feature her interest in the symbolism and cultural value of opaque red glass to its producers and consumers. She approaches this material culture through both theory—including postcolonial, value, and color theories—and scientific processes, such as experimental reproduction and the analysis of colorants and trace elements present in opaque red glasses.
This lecture is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required for this event.
