About the Exhibit:
The Benjamin Patterson Inn Museum Complex announces the re-opening of the Starr Barn Agricultural Exhibit- The Farming Year 1820-1870. The exhibit follows one farmer’s year 1841-1842 through his diary. The exhibit is rich in hands on activities, allowing participants to experience farming activities done throughout the year.
There will be an open house Wednesday July 16th at 6:30pm for the exhibit and several local artists will have barn related work on display in the exhibit hall in the Patterson Inn where there will be refreshments. The exhibit is made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of Elmira, Corning and the Finger Lakes.
Cynthia Falk, author of Barns of New York, will be giving a presentation on Barns of New York on Thursday July 31 at 6:30pm in the Browntown Schoolhouse at the Benjamin Patterson Inn Museum Complex. For more information contact the Corning Painted Post Historical Society at 607-937-5281.
